WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT BASED ON FOCUS GROUP DISCUSSION (FGD) THROUGH VILLAGE POTENTIAL MAPPING IN TALANG SEBARIS VILLAGE, AIR PERIUKAN DISTRICT, SELUMA DISTRICT

The faculty of the Agriculture Studies Program at the University of Bengkulu (UNIB) together with students conducted community service activities by educating and simulating the FGD Mapping of the Village Potential and initiating the formation of the Women’s Tani Group in Talang Sebaris Village, Water Priukan District, Seluma District.

The team of lecturers involved in the dedication activities is Lathifah Khairani, S.P., M.Sc. as the team leader, and Dr. Ir. Musriyadi Nabiu, M.P. as a member. The activities also involved a student team consisting of Anastasya Nurjanah, Fadila Rizki Lubis, and Muhammad Farid Irham.

One of the lecturers of Lathifah Khairani, S.P., M.Sc., said that the purpose of the socialization and simulation activities was to enhance the knowledge and skills of Talang Sebaris Village in mapping the potential of the village through the Regional Outstanding Products (PUD) continued with the approval of the initiation of the formation of the Tani Women’s Group. (KWT).

This community service activity is a concrete implementation of the tri dharma of the UNIB College of Agriculture and Business Studies lecturer by providing socialization on the technique of identification of potential territory analysis 7 phases, socialization of the formation of the Women’s Tan Group (KWT) with explaining the purpose, the purpose of the establishment of KWT, preparation of staff and organization strategy KWT and simulations were carried out to find out to what extent the interests of women peasants and mothers in the creation of women’s tan groups, write down the desire to join KVT and the continuity of activities KWT related to the activities to be undertaken.

The dedication team hopes that the mothers in Talang Sebaris Village can make the Women Farmers group a container to create creativity and independence in the community, especially the women farmers, to increase agricultural productivity. There are regional excellence programs providing information on goods or services that have a high economic value and competitiveness in the local region. Through this dedication, the Talang Sebaris village community expects similar training that can build the community’s creativity given the high participation and enthusiasm for the program implemented.
