Bengkulu City, July\u2013November 2025<\/strong> \u2013 Lecturers from the Department of Agricultural Cultivation<\/strong>, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu (UNIB)<\/strong>, have been actively assisting PT Saefis Maharasa<\/strong>, a micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) located in Pematang Gubernur Subdistrict, Muara Bangkahulu District, Bengkulu City. This activity is part of the Community Service Program (PPM)<\/strong> that supports the Tri Dharma of Higher Education<\/strong>, particularly in the field of community empowerment and innovation.<\/p>\n

Strengthening Collaboration between Universities and Local MSMEs<\/h2>\n

The PPM Universitas Bengkulu<\/strong> team began its mentoring program in July 2025<\/strong>, with activities scheduled to continue until November 2025<\/strong>. The initiative aims to build sustainable collaboration and knowledge sharing between the university and local MSMEs, especially in agricultural product innovation and business development.<\/p>\n

Diversifying Oyster Mushroom-Based Products<\/h2>\n

The program focuses on the diversification of oyster mushroom processed products<\/strong> produced by PT Saefis Maharasa. The company, led by Ade Mahaputra, S.E.<\/strong>, is well known for its flagship product line, D\u2019Jamur<\/em>, which includes mushroom chips in popular flavors such as original<\/strong>, balado (spicy chili)<\/strong>, barbecue<\/strong>, and extra spicy<\/strong>. These healthy snacks are widely enjoyed by young consumers and tourists, making them one of Bengkulu\u2019s signature products<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Through this collaboration, the University of Bengkulu PPM team<\/strong> introduced innovative mushroom-based products such as oyster mushroom dim sum<\/strong> and oyster mushroom fish cakes<\/strong>, utilizing Bengkulu\u2019s abundant local mushroom resources. The goal is to enhance product variety, support business competitiveness, and promote sustainable oyster mushroom cultivation in the region.<\/p>\n

Academic and Student Involvement<\/h2>\n

The community service team is led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Catur Herison, M.Sc.<\/strong>, and supported by members Prof. Dr. Ir. Rustikawati, M.Si.<\/strong>, Dr. Euis Nursaadah, S.Pd., M.Pd.<\/strong>, and Dr. Hesti Pujiwati, S.P., M.Si.<\/strong> Two Agroecotechnology students<\/strong>, Nur Ain Nadia<\/strong> and Prinky Saputra<\/strong> (ninth semester), also participated in the implementation process, contributing to field data collection and product testing.<\/p>\n

Director Ade Mahaputra<\/strong> expressed his appreciation for the collaboration, stating that the innovations would strengthen the company\u2019s competitiveness and open new market opportunities for oyster mushroom-based food products in Bengkulu.<\/p>\n\n\n
