Enggano Island is an oceanic island, which means that the initial formation of the island was directly in the ocean without any connection to the main land. This causes this island to have endemic biodiversity. LIPI exploration results in 2015 found 20 new species of flora and fauna. Apart from its rich flora and fauna, Enggano Island is a small island that has a complete coastal ecosystem, including a mangrove forest ecosystem, seagrass ecosystem and coral reef ecosystem. The existence of these three ecosystems causes abundant marine and coastal biodiversity. The team searched three tropical coastal ecosystems, namely mangroves, seagrass and coral reefs. The survey, which was carried out for approximately 1 week, produced results in the form of the current condition of the ecosystem and what obstacles would be faced if a KKPD was established there.
