The Marine Science and Fisheries Science Study Program<\/strong>, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, conducted a Community Service Program (Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat \/ PKM)<\/strong> in Pekik Nyaring Village, Central Bengkulu Regency<\/strong>.
The activity carried the theme \u201cMapping the Ecotourism Potential of Pekik Nyaring Village Based on the 4A Concept (Attraction, Accessibility, Amenity, and Ancillary)\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The community service team consisted of lecturers from the study program: Nurlaila Ervina Herliany, S.Pi., M.Si<\/strong>, Nur Lina Maratana Nabiu, S.Pi., M.Si<\/strong>, and Ari Anggoro, S.Pi., M.Si<\/strong>. The main goal of this activity was to identify and map the ecotourism potential of Pekik Nyaring Village so that it can be developed sustainably and provide economic benefits for the local community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the program, the team carried out field observations<\/strong> to identify the village\u2019s potential in terms of tourist attractions (Attraction)<\/strong>, accessibility (Accessibility)<\/strong>, supporting facilities (Amenity)<\/strong>, and institutional support (Ancillary)<\/strong>.
The results of this assessment are expected to serve as baseline data<\/strong> for the village government and relevant stakeholders in formulating strategies for sustainable ecotourism development based on local resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to field mapping, the team also conducted discussions and outreach sessions<\/strong> with village officials and community representatives to promote the importance of community-based ecotourism<\/strong>. Through this participatory approach, residents were encouraged to play an active role in protecting the coastal environment and natural resources that serve as the village\u2019s main attractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This community service activity also served as an opportunity for lecturers and students to interact directly with the community and apply academic knowledge to real-world practices. Through this initiative, it is expected that Pekik Nyaring Village<\/strong> will grow into a leading coastal ecotourism destination in Bengkulu Province<\/strong>, attracting visitors while promoting both environmental sustainability and community welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n
