Bengkulu, November 11, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 A team of lecturers from the Marine Science Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, held a promotional and outreach event at Senior High School 9 in Bengkulu City  (SMA Negeri 9) Bengkulu City on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. WIB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event was part of the Marine Science Study Program’s efforts, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, to introduce the study program to students at SMA Negeri 9 Bengkulu and provide insight into the importance of basic science in supporting sustainable marine and coastal resource management.<\/p>\n\n\n

The team of lecturers who attended this activity consisted of: Dr. Dewi Purnama, S.Pi., M.Si, Nella Tri Agustini, S.Kel., M.Si, Firdha Iresta Wardhani, S.Pi., M.Si, Anggini Fuji Astuti, S.Si., M.Si, Silvy Syukhriani, S.Kel., M.Si, Akbar Abdurrahman Mahfudz, S.Si., M.Sc, Syarif Nur, S.Kel., M.Sc, and Ayub Sugara, S.Kel., M.Si.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, lecturers presented various information regarding the profile and strengths of the Marine Science Study Program, including the curriculum, practical and field research activities, career opportunities for graduates, and student involvement in community service and scientific competitions. The team also presented documentation of research activities on mangrove ecosystems and coral reefs, as well as coastal mapping conducted in various regions of Bengkulu Province.<\/p>\n\n\n

The event was met with enthusiasm from the 12th grade science and social science students, who were interested in learning more about the marine world. During the question-and-answer session, many students inquired about job opportunities in the marine sector, student fieldwork, and career opportunities at research institutions and government agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The principal of State Senior High School 9 in Bengkulu City delivered a very positive welcome and supported this promotional activity. In his remarks, he expressed his deep appreciation to the University of Bengkulu, particularly the Marine Science Study Program of the Faculty of Agriculture, for coming in person to provide information and motivation to the students.<\/p>\n\n\n

“We welcome this promotional activity from the University of Bengkulu. This kind of activity is very beneficial for our students, helping them broaden their knowledge and learn more about the study programs available at the university. We hope this kind of activity can continue annually, as it inspires students to determine their future,” said the Principal of SMA Negeri 9 Bengkulu in his remarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also added that the marine sector is a crucial sector with a bright future, given that Indonesia is a maritime nation with abundant marine resources. Therefore, he encouraged students to choose the Marine Science Study Program as a first step toward a promising career in marine science and environmental management.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The promotional activity concluded with a group photo session between the University of Bengkulu lecturers and representatives of teachers and students from SMA Negeri 9 Bengkulu. A friendly atmosphere and collaborative spirit were evident throughout the event. This promotional activity is expected to foster a positive relationship between the University of Bengkulu and SMAN 9 Bengkulu City, supporting the improvement of educational quality and encouraging more students to join and contribute to the Marine Science Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, in preserving and sustainably utilizing the potential of Indonesia’s marine resources.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
