The advancement of technology, such as the internet, is no longer unfamiliar to a considerable part of the Indonesian population. The rapid development of the internet not only influences the industrial, economic, and educational sectors but has also significantly impacted the field of education. Particularly in education, the internet has become a supportive tool in the learning process. With the ease of internet technology today, educational institutions are increasingly utilizing it as a means to aid the teaching and learning processes. This phenomenon is commonly known as e-learning.<\/p>\n

In its evolution, e-learning has transformed from Open Course Ware (OCW) to the latest development known as Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). MOOCs, fundamentally, are a form of distance learning conducted online. In MOOCs, all that is needed for learning is a device to access the MOOC platform and a stable internet connection. Learning through MOOCs is often offered at lower costs or even for free. MOOCs can be accessed from anywhere as they are conducted online. One of the advantages of MOOCs-based learning is its flexible schedule, creating an innovative learning culture that is not restrictive and caters to the participants’ needs.<\/p>\n

To enhance the capacity of Faculty of Agriculture lecturers in facilitating online learning through MOOCs, a workshop on Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) was conducted on Thursday, November 9, 2023, attended by 41 lecturers. The resource person for this event was Dr. Eko Risdianto, M.Cs, who serves as a Commissioner at CV Media Inti Teknologi. Currently, UNIB has its own MOOCs platform accessible at moocs.unib.ac.id. The hope is that this workshop will further enhance the abilities of Faculty of Agriculture lecturers in providing improved educational services.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
