Located at the Dean Building of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNIB, today, Friday, April 17, 2026, the Dean of FP Prof. Dr Ir. Suharyanto, S.Pt., M.Si, accompanied by Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Prof. Heri Dwi Putranto, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D and Dean of FMIPA UNIB Prof.Dr. Sal Prima Yuda, M.Si, has signed an MoU document with the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of the Bengkulu Region. BMKG Bengkulu Region, on this occasion, was directly represented by the Head of the Bengkulu Class I Climatology Station, Luhur Tri Uji Prayitno, S.P., M.Ling. This collaboration was initiated by the Coordinator of the Soil Science Study Program of FP UNIB, Prof. Dr Ir. Priyono Prawito, M.Sc., and team from FMIPA UNIB. <\/p>\n\n\n

This collaboration is centred on the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially in the fields of Research and Community Service, which are also among Higher Education’s functions and roles. In his remarks, the Dean of FP UNIB emphasised the importance of this academic cooperation for both parties, noting that almost all study programs in FP and FMIPA will require access to key climatology data.\u00a0 Likewise, BMKG will need the involvement of higher education institutions in improving the quality of science and services for the community, especially data services that are vital for the academic activities of lecturers and students, particularly in relation to climatological data.
