MAGISTER IN NATURAL RECOURCES MANAGEMENT HELD WORKSHOP OF SOP OF ACADEMIC, ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE SERVICES

On Friday, October 27 2023, the Magister in Natural Resources Management (MNR) held a workshop on Standard Operating Procedures for Academic, Administrative and Financial Services. In the workshop, at least 64 services were identified for which SOPs had not been created. In this workshop it was revealed that SOPs are actually made by faculties or departments that oversee several study programs that have different unique characteristics. Meanwhile, at the study program level are Work Instructions. It is very important to create this Work Instruction document as a guideline for services at PSDA, and to evaluate whether services have been carried out in accordance with the Work Instructions. Standard Operating Procedure is a set of guidelines in an organization that explains routine activity procedures. SOPs are really needed by an organization to achieve organizational goals effectively and efficiently. Before creating an SOP, at the first level the S2 PSDA must create a service quality policy which is usually stated in the vision, mission and Strategic Plan of the S2 PSDA, which is then outlined in a “quality manual”. The quality manual contains the quality policy and provides an overview of the core processes in an organization. The quality policy is then translated into SOPs (second level). SOPs are standard procedures that define how to carry out various responsibilities of related units that are relevant to investigating service quality. In order for the SOP to be implemented, it is necessary to create a technical description of the SOP which is contained in the work instructions in a work unit (level 3). At the last level (4th level) it can be divided into two. The first part includes the forms needed to support service activities at S2 PSDA, as well as related supporting documents. The second part includes records that serve as evidence that the core steps of service quality have been met. Records are useful for data analysis and continuous service improvement. The main keyword in making SOPs is that they are prepared based on the needs of stakeholders, both internal and external

The benefits of SOPs

5. Could be used as a means of auditing the information system in MNR Program Study.
