Welcome Remark of The Study Program Coordinator

Welcome to the Magister in Natural and Environmental Resources Management. We offer an advanced education focused on the natural and environmental resources management at humid forestry and coastal area. This is a four semester course-and-research-based program for acquiring scientific knowledge and skill in maximizing the management of natural and environmental resources.  By joining our program, you will gain the expertise in management of natural and environmental resources for a long-term and meaningful career as: managers, researchers, academics in government and private institutions, and entrepreneurs in the field of natural and environmental resource management.

History

The Magister in Natural and Enrivonmental Resources Management, Faculty of Agriculture, Bengkulu University was established in November 2007 (Decree of Directorate General of Higher Education number 3541/DT/2007 dated November 5, 2007), and began accepting students in January 2008. At the beginning of its establishment, this Study Program was named Natural Resources and Environmental Management with an M.Sc. Through the Decree of the Chancellor of Unib no. 1944/UN30/HK/2017 dated October 24, 2017 and the Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia number 1343/KPT/I/2018 dated December 31, 2018, this study program changed its name from Natural Resources and Environment Management to Natural Resources Management, with the title M. Ling. In 2013 this study program was accredited for the first time with a C predicate with the SK BAN-PT no. 019/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-X/M/2013. Furthermore, in 2015 this program study was accredited B with SK BAN-PT number 503/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/M/V/2015 valid until 2020. In 2020 the accreditation was extended to rank B with SK BAN-PT no. 3343/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PPJ/M/VI/2020. Th study program is currently accredited “Very Good” applicable in 2021-2026 with SK BAN-PT No. 2405/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/M/IV/2021). Head of the MNR Program for the 2007-2013 period: Prof. Dr. Ir. Johan Setiato, 2013-2017: Dr. Enggar Aprianto, 2017-2021: Dr. Ir. Bieng Brata, M.P. and 2021-2025: Prof. Dr. Ir. Urip Santoso, S.I.Kom., M.Sc.Graduates of Natural and Environmental Resources Management will be able to develop models, methods, and techniques of Natural Resource Management in a sustainable and sustainable manner, build and implement networking in all fields, so that they can compete globally, and become professionals in development planning in the management sector.

Vission

To become an academically recognized study program in Southeast Asia at 2028 in the field of natural and environmental resource and management for tropical and coastal forest areas.

Mission

  1. Organizing education, research, and community service to realize competence in the field of Natural and Environmental Resources Management from tropical forests to coastal areas.
  2. Participate in the Natural and Environmental Resources Management from tropical forests to coastal areas.
  3. Improving the ability of human resources in accordance with the profile of graduates in line with the development of science and technology in the field of Natural and Environmental Resources Management to support sustainable development.
  4. Become a partner of the government, private sector, and community in the management of Natural and Environmental Resources Management and the sustainable environment.

The Objective

  1. Produce master graduates who master, understand, and develop knowledge and technology in the field of tropical and coastal natural resource management and the environment based on research and innovation.
  2. Produce graduates who are able to manage, develop natural resource management in tropical forest areas, coastal areas, and the environment by taking into account the principles of harmony, justice, and sustainability.
  3. Produce graduates who are able to provide alternatives to overcome problems related to the development and management of natural resources in tropical and coastal forest areas with a multidisciplinary and multi-aspect approach
  4. Produce graduates who are able to build cooperation with stakeholders related to the management of tropical and coastal forest natural resources and their environment.

Profile of Graduates

Profile of graduates of the Magister in Natural and Environmental Resources Management are able to become managers, researchers, academics in government and private institutions, and entrepreneurs in the field of natural and environmental resource management.

Organization Structure

Magister in Natural and Environmental Resources Management is located directly under the Faculty of Agriculture, Bengkulu University. This study program is led by a coordinator and assisted by one academic staff and one administrative and financial staff.
