
UNIB Hosts International Research Talk Featuring Dr Chris Thorogood from the University of Oxford
The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of the University of Bengkulu will convene an International Research Talk titled “How to Build a Research Portfolio and Networking.” This academic forum is organised in collaboration with the Centre for Environmental Studies and the TroBiCA Research Group.
The keynote speaker for this international event is Dr Chris Thorogood, Associate Professor of Biology and Deputy Director of the Botanic Garden, University of Oxford, United Kingdom. Dr Thorogood is globally recognised for his expertise in evolutionary biology, parasitic plants, and the conservation of rare and threatened plant species.
Strengthening the Research Capacity of Scholars and Students
The event will take place on Thursday, 20 November 2025, from 09:30 to 11:30 WIB at LPPM UNIB, Building B, 2nd Floor. This program reflects UNJIB’s strong commitment to fostering academic excellence by engaging globally renowned scholars to enhance the research capacity of faculty members and students.
During the session, participants will gain insights into:
• developing a strong and competitive research portfolio,
• expanding international research networks,
• identifying opportunities for publication in reputable scientific journals, and
