North Bengkulu, October 18, 2025: Lecturers from the Forestry Department, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, once again conducted a Community Service activity in Tanjung Dalam Village, Ulok Kupai District, North Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province. This activity carried the theme “Making Liquid Organic Fertilizer from Household Waste” as an effort to support environmentally friendly waste management and improve the village economy. The activity was held at the OMAH IJO Self-Help Agricultural and Rural Training Center (P4S) and was attended by the local community, village officials, and farmer groups. Through this activity, the team of lecturers sought to educate the community on how to manage household waste into a useful product, a liquid organic fertilizer that can be used for agriculture, plantations, and garden plants.

The community participants showed high enthusiasm throughout the training. They not only actively participated in the hands-on practice but also discussed marketing opportunities for liquid organic fertilizer products at the local level. One participant stated that the training was very beneficial because it provided real solutions for reducing household waste volume while also developing new skills for villagers.”Activities like this are very helpful for us. Now we know how to make our own fertilizer from kitchen waste, and the results can be used for plants or sold,” said one participant. With this activity, it is hoped that the Tanjung Dalam Village community can become an example of a self-sufficient village in waste management and organic fertilizer production, thereby supporting sustainable agriculture while maintaining the cleanliness and sustainability of the village environment.
