Public Lecture of the Department of Agricultural Technology, University of Bengkulu on Postharvest and Cocoa Taste Increases Student Research Interest in Cocoa Processing

On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, a public lecture activity was held for the Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu. The activity was carried out from 09.30 to 12.00 online with the Zoom Meeting application. The activity was attended by 102 participants who were students, lecturers and alumni of the Department of Agricultural Technology, University of Bengkulu and several other students from outside the University of Bengkulu.

The public lecture activity that was carried out presented speakers, namely Hendy Firmanto, ST., M.Sc. as a post-harvest researcher of coffee and cocoa, head of the research group for post-harvest and downstream industry of the Puslitkoka, head of the coffee and cocoa KST of the Ministry of Research and Technology-Brin.

The activity began with an opening and remarks by the Head of the Department of Agricultural Technology, represented by Dra. Devi Silsia, M.Si. as the Secretary of the Department of Agricultural Technology. In the public lecture activities that were carried out online, many knowledge was conveyed by speakers who were in the field and were experienced about cocoa, ranging from post-harvest cocoa to cocoa processing into chocolate.

The activity received a response and enthusiasm from the participants of the public lecture, this was evidenced by the many questions. The activity was closed with the symbolic handover of certificates of thanks and photos with the presenters, lecturers and all participants in the zoom meeting room.
