Improving Learning Capacity and Quality, Department of Agricultural Technology Holds Workshop on Making Outcome-Based Education (OBE) RPS
From February 25 to March 11, 2025, a Workshop on Making RPS-OBE (Semester Outcome-Based Education Learning Plan) was held in the Meeting room of the Department of Agricultural Technology. This activity was carried out by the Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu. RPS (Study Learning Plan) is a guide for lecturers and students in undergoing the learning process for one semester. RPS helps ensure that all materials can be delivered systematically and in accordance with learning outcomes. RPS is important in higher education because RPS provides the benefits of continuity and consistency with other courses in the curriculum, provides clear learning outcomes both from cognitive (knowledge), affective (attitude), and psychomotor (skill) aspects, effectiveness of time and resources, improves the quality of learning, and most importantly facilitates accreditation because RPS documents are proof that learning has been designed according to higher education standards, both nationally and internationally. In the era of globalization and the industrial revolution 4.0, higher education is required to produce graduates who are competent, adaptive, and ready to compete at the national and international levels. The Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach has become the standard in curriculum and learning in various higher education institutions around the world. This approach emphasizes clear and measurable learning outcomes, thereby ensuring that graduates have competencies that are in accordance with the needs of industry and society. The RPS-OBE Workshop was held as an effort to increase the capacity of lecturers in compiling quality RPS based on the learning outcomes that have been determined. Through this workshop, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the concept of OBE, techniques for formulating learning outcomes, effective learning strategies, and evaluation methods that are in accordance with the OBE approach.
The Wokshop activity for the creation of RPS-OBE was attended by 15 lecturers of the Department of Agricultural Technology. The speakers of this activity were: Mrs. Ika Gusriani, S.T.P., MP., Mrs. Fitri Yuwita, S.T.P., MP., Mrs. Ulfah Anis, S.T.P., M.Sc., and Mrs. Arina Fatharani, S.T.P., M.Sc.
