Product Diversification from Salak Waste in Banyumas Village, Kerkap District, North Bengkulu

Banyumas Village, Kerkap District, North Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province is one of the potential villages to carry out community service because it is one of the areas that has abundant agricultural products such as salak fruits. On Saturday, May 10, 2025, a community service activity was carried out regarding the diversification of products from salak waste in Banyumas Village. This activity was attended by residents of Banyumas Village, Kerkap.

This Community Service was presented by Dr. Evanila Silvia, S.TP, M.Si., Prof. Dr. Ir. Yuwana, M.Sc., and Drs. Bosman Sidebang, MP. The material on product diversification from salak waste such as salak seeds to salak seed coffee and salak peel to salak peel tea was delivered by Dr. Evanila Silvia, S.TP, M.Si. It is hoped that with the delivery of this handling process, the community or villagers can increase added value, expand the market, and reduce waste from salak fruit. This diversification allows the use of parts of salak that were previously considered waste, such as leather and seeds, into processed products that are useful and economically valuable.
