As the official representative office of the Indonesia Stock Exchange in Bengkulu, IDX Bengkulu has an important role in increasing public understanding of the capital market. On this occasion, Herlin Andini as IDX Bengkulu Trainer provided core material that opened students’ insights about the function of the IDX, capital market structure, investment instruments, and the importance of financial literacy from an early age. Students are introduced to instruments such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, and sharia instruments, accompanied by a discussion of risks and basic strategies for investing wisely.
In the second session, M. Ari Pratama from KISI Sekuritas gave a practice of capital market applications through simulation of stock transactions using the iKISI application. Students are invited to understand the mechanism of opening an investment account, read stock price movements, get to know order books, look at candlestick charts, and try to simulate buy and sell directly through the demo trading feature in the application. The use of iKISI provides a more real and interactive experience in understanding the investment process in the modern capital market.
The combination of material and practical sessions provides a comprehensive overview for students, especially in understanding the opportunities and challenges of investing. This understanding is very relevant for Agricultural Industrial Technology students who will later be involved in the world of agroindustry and entrepreneurship, where the ability to manage finances and understand the capital market is a significant added value.
This Teaching Practitioner activity was enthusiastically welcomed by all participants. Through this education, the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program hopes to produce a young generation who not only excel in the field of academics and agricultural technology, but are also financially literate, able to invest wisely, and understand the dynamics of the national economy
The activity was closed with an interactive discussion and question and answer session, as well as the hope that the collaboration with IDX Bengkulu and KISI Sekuritas can continue in order to expand capital market literacy within the University of Bengkulu.
