PATPI Bengkulu Management for the 2025-2029 Period Officially Inaugurated, Ready to Encourage Food Innovation and Professional Strengthening

The Indonesian Food Technology Experts Association (PATPI) officially inaugurated new administrators in 14 branches for the 2025–2029 period on Saturday, November 22, 2025. The inaugurated PATPI Branch Management includes PATPI Branches in Jakarta, Banda Aceh, Jambi, Denpasar, Kupang, Banyumas, Ambon, Makassar, Palembang, Serang, Manado, Bengkulu, Padang, and Semarang. The inauguration, which was centered on Sahid University Jakarta, was held online through a Zoom Meeting and was also attended by the Bengkulu Branch of PATPI which focused on its inauguration activities in the Dean’s Room of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu.

The Chairman of PATPI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Giyatmi, M.Si., in his speech emphasized that PATPI has a strategic role in strengthening the capacity of science and professionalism of food technology in Indonesia. PATPI is expected to be present as a driver of research and innovation development, a communication link between academia, industry, government, and society, as well as a forum for improving scientific and collaborative culture among food professionals. He also emphasized the importance of food safety standards as the main foundation of the industry, including in the implementation of national nutrition programs. Prof. Giyatmi emphasized that processed food is the result of a production process that aims to improve the quality, safety, nutrition, distribution access, and durability of products—not synonymous with ultra-processed food (UPF) which is often in the public spotlight. The food industry, he continued, is obliged to comply with national and global food safety rules such as GMP, GHP, HACCP, and ISO 22000.

The inauguration of the new management of PATPI Bengkulu marks the beginning of the organization’s journey to strengthen professional networks, increase research and technology contributions, and encourage the active role of food experts in the development of safe, sustainable, and competitive food in Bengkulu and at the national level.

In order to strengthen the scientific tradition within PATPI, the inauguration activity was also continued with the socialization of the PATP book writing program. A total of 12 book titles are planned to be published simultaneously at the PATPI Congress and International Seminar in September 2026. This program is a strategic step to document members’ thoughts and research, enrich academic references, support food policy innovation, and show PATPI’s real contribution to improving national food quality.
