Eriyansyah Saputra, Agricultural Technology Student of UNIB, Won Best Presenter at The 5th IUCA International Scientific Forum 2025
Students of the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu have again made proud achievements at the international level. Eriyansyah Saputra won the 3rd Best Presenter award in the parallel session in The 5th IUCA 2025 (International Undergraduate Conference on Agriculture and Life Sciences) which was held on December 15, 2025.
The 5th IUCA 2025 is organized by the University of Bengkulu with the support of a number of international partner universities, including Princess of Naradhiwas University (PNU), Prince of Songkla University (PSU), and Yala Rajabhat University from Thailand, as well as Çukurova University from Turkey. This conference is an academic forum for undergraduate students from various countries to present research results and discuss strategic issues in the field of agriculture and life sciences, with the theme “Empowering Future Scientists for Global Food and Environmental Resilience”.

On this occasion, Eriyansyah Saputra presented the results of his research entitled “Characteristics of Bleberan Fish (Thryssa sp.) Dry Smoke with Coconut Shell Liquid Smoke Soaking”. This study examines the use of coconut shell liquid smoke as an alternative to smoking bleberan fish that is safer and more environmentally friendly than traditional smoking methods. The results of the study show that the use of liquid smoke is able to improve the physical, chemical, microbiological, and organoleptic quality of products, and has the potential to add economic value to bleberan fish as a local commodity in Bengkulu.
The achievements achieved by Eriyansyah Saputra reflect the quality of learning and academic coaching in the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program, University of Bengkulu, especially in encouraging students to actively conduct research and participate in international scientific forums since the undergraduate level. Student involvement in international conferences is also an important means to build confidence, expand academic networks, and foster a sustainable research culture.
This achievement is expected to be an inspiration for other students to continue to develop their academic potential, dare to publish and present research results, and make a real contribution to the development of science and sustainable agriculture at the national and global levels.
