HIMATIN Department of Agricultural Technology, University of Bengkulu Holds Goes to School at SMAN 3 Central Bengkulu

The Agricultural Industrial Technology Student Association (HIMATIN) of the University of Bengkulu again carried out service and education activities for high school students through the “HIMATIN Goes to School” program which was held at SMAN 3 Central Bengkulu on Monday, March 9, 2026. This activity aims to provide students with insight into the world of lectures, as well as introduce various higher education opportunities to the younger generation who will continue their studies after graduating from high school.

In this activity, the HIMATIN team introduced the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program (TIP) which is under the Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu. The students received an explanation of the various fields of knowledge studied in the study program, ranging from the processing of agricultural products, packaging and storage technology of food products, management of the agricultural industry, to technological innovations that support the development of agroindustry. In addition, participants were also introduced to various career prospects for TIP graduates, such as working in the food industry and agroindustry, becoming entrepreneurs in the field of agricultural product processing, to careers in the agricultural technology research and development sector.

Not only introducing study programs, HIMATIN also provides socialization about the National Selection for New Student Admissions (SNPMB). In this session, the students received an explanation of the entrance routes to state universities, such as SNBP and SNBT, as well as various tips and tricks to prepare themselves well in facing the university entrance selection process. This information is expected to help students understand the right strategies in choosing a course of study as well as increase their chances of being accepted into their dream college.

The activity took place in a relaxed, interactive, and communicative atmosphere. In addition to the presentation of the material, the students also had the opportunity to participate in a questionand answer session directly with HIMATIN students. In this session, students were very enthusiastic about asking various questions, ranging from lecture life, student organization experiences, to scholarship opportunities that can be obtained while studying at university.

The HIMATIN Goes to School program is a form of student contribution in providing education and motivation to high school students to be better prepared in planning their academic future. Through this activity, HIMATIN hopes that students will not only gain information about the world of lectures, but also be more motivated to continue their education to a higher level and dare to pursue their dreams.

In the future, HIMATIN is committed to continuing to carry out similar activities in various schools as part of efforts to introduce the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program to the wider community while strengthening the role of students as educational and inspiration agents for the younger generation.
