Application of Natural Preservation Technology Combining Aquatic Agriculture and Marine Product Nutrition for Golden Indonesia 2045 in an Effort to Transform the Raja Pulau Fishermen Group

From August 17 to 25, 2025, community service activities were carried out with the topic of natural preservation technology combining aquatic agriculture and marine product nutrition in Kaana Village, Enggano District, North Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province. This activity was carried out by lecturers from the University of Bengkulu, namely Selly Ratna Sari, S.Pi., M.Si., Ir. Laili Susanti, M.Si., Rini Mustikasari Kurnia Pratama, S.SiT., M.Keb. and followed by the people of Kaana Village who are members of the king of the island fishermen group.

The Raja Pulau Fishermen Group faces challenges in increasing the competitiveness of fishery products in the market. One of the ways to answer this challenge is to carry out transformation through the application of natural preservation technology that combines aspects of aquatic agriculture and marine product nutrition. This activity aims to improve the quality of processed fish products and the welfare of fishermen in facing the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045. With this program, the Raja Pulau Fishermen Group is expected to be able to produce high-quality fishery products by utilizing natural resources with better selling value, while contributing to food security and community welfare in welcoming the Golden Indonesia 2045.

This activity was attended by a group of fishermen from the island king with 10 members, and 25 government employees, students and family members of the group. Activities include socialization, training and education about natural preservation methods, such as gambier, kecombrang, chitosan, liquid smoke to seaweed into carrageenan. After the socialization was carried out, the training continued during the day on the practice of making salted fish and the practice of smoking fish, there were also several tools that were taught how to use them such as vacuum sealers, smoker cabinets, food dehydrators and ice makers. The service team also always coordinates and communicates with the king of the island fishermen group to provide direction and input so that the processed products run optimally. Currently, the product has been sold both around Bengkulu, Bengkulu and outside Bengkulu.
