TIP Lecturer and Student Team Introduces the World of Food and Technology to the Young Generation at SMA IT Iqra’ Bengkulu

Bengkulu — The Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program, University of Bengkulu again carried out Community Service activities through socialization entitled “Introduction to the World of Food and Technology for the Young Generation” on Monday, October 27, 2025. This activity took place at SMA IT Iqra’ Bengkulu City, located on Jalan Merawan 19 RT 25 RW 07, Sawah Lebar, Ratu Agung.

This activity presented three lecturers, namely Yusuf Irfan, S.T.P., M.T., Ir. Wuri Marsigit, M.App.Sc., and Dr. Zulman Efendi, S.T.P., M.Sc., and supported by three students: Khoirul Amar, Perta Okamala, and Muhammad Mirza Lutfi Ainurrafiq. The service team provided material on the world of food, modern processing technology, and the strategic role of agricultural industry technology in supporting the future food system.

A total of 35 students of SMA IT Iqra’ participated in this activity with enthusiasm. In the socialization, participants were introduced to the basic concepts of food science, technology used in the food processing industry, and the importance of innovation to ensure the safety, quality, and efficiency of food production. In addition, students also get information about study opportunities and career prospects in the field of Agricultural Industrial Technology.

This activity not only adds to students’ insight into the development of food technology, but is also expected to motivate the younger generation to better know and consider careers in agriculture and the food industry that continues to grow. Through this activity, the University of Bengkulu hopes to contribute to improving science and technology literacy among students as an effort to create superior human resources in the future.
