Lecturer of the Department of Agricultural Technology, University of Bengkulu Participates in Industrial Sector Training at Dalian Ocean University, China

As part of the cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the People’s Republic of China, two lecturers from the University of Bengkulu participated in the Training of Trainers organized by the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Indonesia in collaboration with the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of the People’s Republic of China.

This activity is the implementation of  the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia and the Chinese NDRC, which aims to increase the capacity of Indonesian human resources in the fields of maritime, fisheries, and the modern marine industry.

The training was held at Dalian Ocean University, China, from September 15 to October 12, 2025, with two main topics, namely Marine Aquaculture Technology and Advanced Fishing and Refrigeration Management. This activity was attended by 40 participants from various institutions in Indonesia.

The University of Bengkulu is one of the universities that sent representatives, namely Mrs. Selly Ratna Sari, S.Pi., M.Si. from the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, and Mrs. Lathifa Khairani, S.P., M.Sc. from the Agribusiness Study Program, Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics, Faculty of Agriculture.

The training not only focuses on learning theory in the classroom, but also includes practice in the laboratory, case studies, visits to fisheries and industrial companies in China, as well as presentations of learning outcomes from each participant. The activity was carried out under the coordination of the School of Foreign Languages and International Education, Dalian Ocean University.

The program introduces participants to modern fisheries management, aquaculture technology, marine resource conservation, and sustainable fisheries practices. Through this activity, participants gained first-hand experience of the advanced marine and fisheries industry system, as well as a place for knowledge and technology transfer between the two countries

In addition to expanding horizons, this activity also opens up opportunities for academic and research cooperation between Indonesian and Chinese higher education institutions in the future. It is hoped that the results of this training can make a real contribution to the development of education, research, and technological innovation in the fisheries and food industry in Indonesia.
