The implementation of higher education in Indonesia, including the Agribusiness Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Bengkulu University, always experiences dynamics in line with the needs and demands of the world of work and is sometimes also influenced by changes in regulations that are adapted to the demands of users. For 5 years, the concept of Competency-Based Curriculum has become part of the learning process in Higher Education in accordance with Ministerial Decree No. 232/U/2000. In 2012, the concept of developing a higher education curriculum was introduced, a new system known as the Concept of the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) through Presidential Decree 8 of 2012 and Kepmendiknas RI Number: 323/U/2000 and Number: 045/O/2002 which provides opportunities for universities (vocational) to nationally obtain equal recognition of graduates by the world of work with graduates of academic universities. So through this KKNI, nationally, every similar study program should produce graduates with standardized competencies or learning outcomes even though they are produced through different ways and learning activities (different pathways – standardized outputs/outcomes).
The development of science and technology, the growing needs of the community, and government policies are the driving factors for the importance of curriculum changes and development, including in the Agribusiness Study Program. The main legal basis underlying curriculum changes and development in the Agribusiness study program is the Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 8 of 2012 concerning the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI).
The Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) is a competency qualification tiering framework that can juxtapose, equalize, and integrate the education and job training fields as well as work experience in order to provide recognition of work competencies in accordance with the work structure in various sectors (Presidential Decree number 8 of 2012). KKNI is the embodiment of the quality and identity of the Indonesian nation in relation to Indonesia’s national education and training system.
