Agroecotechnology Open House 2024: Faculty Introduction and Dynamic Activities for New Students

On August 10-11, 2024, the Agroecotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, The University of Bengkulu, hosted the 2024 Open House event, aimed at welcoming and introducing new students to the academic environment and faculty members of the study program. This two-day event featured a series of beneficial and engaging activities.

The first day began with an opening ceremony, which included welcoming speeches from the Head of the Organizing Committee, the President of HIMAGROTEK, the Study Program Coordinator, and the Vice Dean. The event was also graced with a traditional dance performance and the recitation of the Quran to start the day on a meaningful note.

The main agenda on the first day was the introduction of the Agroecotechnology Study Program faculty members, led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Reny Herawati, M.P. Following the faculty introduction, participants were given an overview of the curriculum, academic system, and the role of academic advisors who will guide them throughout their studies.

The second day was filled with morning exercises to boost morale, followed by a session on strategies and motivation for studying in the Agroecotechnology Program, including information on community service, internships, and agro-tourism. Additionally, participants received guidance on academic ethics, which is essential for their academic journey.

Besides academic content, students were encouraged to participate in various ice-breaking activities and games designed to strengthen camaraderie and teamwork among the new students. The event concluded with an award ceremony recognizing the best groups and individuals.

With this comprehensive and meaningful program, it is hoped that new students will gain a deeper understanding of their academic environment and build strong relationships with their fellow students and faculty members in the Agroecotechnology Study Program.
