
HIMAGROTEK UNIB Successfully Hosts Online Talk Show on Smart Scientific Writing with AI
Bengkulu, April 9, 2024 — The Agroecotechnology Student Association (HIMAGROTEK), Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu (UNIB), successfully organized an online talk show on scientific writing and artificial intelligence titled “Smart Writing with AI: Intelligent Strategies for Academic Writing Without Plagiarism.”
The event was conducted via Zoom Meeting and featured Dr. Eko Risdianto, an Associate Professor specializing in educational technology, e-learning, and artificial intelligence, as the keynote speaker.
Promoting Ethical and Smart Academic Writing
The talk show aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of scientific writing using AI tools while maintaining academic integrity and avoiding plagiarism. Dr. Eko Risdianto provided practical insights into how AI can support writing processes, from idea development to manuscript refinement.
Participants were also introduced to strategies for using AI responsibly, ensuring that technology serves as a tool for improvement rather than a shortcut that compromises originality.
Strong Institutional Support
The program was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation, Dr. Hesti Pujiwati, S.P., M.Si., followed by welcoming remarks from the Chairman of HIMAGROTEK, Piter Pepbriyansa.
The session was moderated by Rifqy Reyhan, who facilitated an interactive discussion between the speaker and participants.
High Participation and Positive Impact
The event attracted participants from diverse backgrounds, including students, lecturers, alumni, and the general public, from various regions such as Jakarta, Bogor, Kudus, Solo, and other areas.
Active engagement throughout the session reflected the growing interest in AI-assisted academic writing and its role in improving research quality.
Given its success, HIMAGROTEK plans to organize similar programs in the future to continue supporting academic skill development and knowledge sharing among students and the wider community.
