“Pot Doll” Program: Learning to Love Plants at Sekolah Langit Biru

Agroecotechnology Community Service Brings Fun and Green Learning to Pematang Gubernur

The Agroecotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, The University of Bengkulu, has successfully conducted a community service activity titled “Pot Doll: Playing While Learning to Love Plants” at Sekolah Langit Biru, located in Pematang Gubernur, Muara Bangkahulu District, Bengkulu City.

This joyful and educational activity introduced elementary school students to the wonders of plants through a creative, hands-on approach. Children were invited to decorate and plant in pot dolls—miniature plant containers shaped like cute animals—turning the experience into a blend of art, play, and environmental awareness.

The Community Service Team:
Putri Mian Hairani, S.P., M.Si.
Prof. Ir. Nanik Setyowati, M.Sc., Ph.D.
Dr. Ir. Uswatun Nurjanah, M.P.

The program not only enhanced children’s creativity through craft activities but also instilled early values of environmental stewardship and plant care. The Pot Doll project served as a fun, interactive, and memorable learning method for young learners.

Through this initiative, the team aims to nurture a new generation that is more aware of their environment and develops an interest in agriculture and sustainability from an early age.
