
Successful Implementation of the Agroecotechnology Student PMO Program at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu
Bengkulu, 23 November 2025 — The Agroecotechnology Study Program, Department of Crop Production, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu (FAPERTA UNIB), successfully held the Student and Organization Introduction Program (PMO) on 22–23 November 2025. The event was organized by the Agroecotechnology Student Association (HIMAGROTEK) as the main committee.
The PMO is an annual agenda designed to introduce new students to the academic environment, the scope of Agroecotechnology as a scientific field, and the various student organizations under the faculty and study program.
Opening Ceremony
The Agroecotechnology PMO 2025 officially began on Friday, 22 November 2025, at the Faculty of Agriculture Auditorium. The event was opened by Dr. Ir. Sumardi, M.P., representing the Head of the Department of Crop Production (BDP). In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of mental and academic preparedness as new students begin their university journey and face the challenges of modern agricultural development.
Ela Hasri Windari, S.Si., M.Sc., representing the HIMAGROTEK Advisory Board, also delivered a speech encouraging students to actively engage in organizations, build connections, and strengthen soft skills essential for their future careers.
Additionally, Rio Asri (President of HIMAGROTEK) and Ahmad Rizky (PMO Committee Chair) highlighted that PMO serves as an early platform for character-building, discipline, and teamwork among new students as they transition into campus life.
PMO Activities
Over two days, students participated in a series of interactive sessions designed to support their academic transition and personal development, including:

Introduction to the Study Program and Curriculum
New students received an overview of the curriculum structure, laboratory facilities, and opportunities for research and community service in Agroecotechnology. -
Leadership and Personal Development Sessions
Participants learned essential skills such as effective communication, time management, and teamwork. -
Introduction to Student Organizations
HIMAGROTEK presented its organizational structure, work programs, and opportunities for student involvement. -
Team-Building Games and Outbound Activities
Outdoor activities were conducted to strengthen collaboration, solidarity, and camaraderie among participants.
High Enthusiasm from Participants
This year’s PMO was attended by the 2025 cohort of Agroecotechnology students, who showed strong enthusiasm throughout the program. Many expressed that they gained valuable insights and experiences that helped them adapt to the university environment.
PMO Committee Chair Ahmad Rizky acknowledged that the success of the event was the result of excellent teamwork among committee members, as well as support from the Study Program and Faculty. He hopes PMO will serve as a strong foundation for new students to grow, develop, and excel during their time at UNIB.
Closing Session
The PMO officially concluded on Saturday, 23 November 2025, with a reflection session and group photo involving all participants and committee members.
With the successful implementation of the Agroecotechnology PMO 2025, it is expected that new students will be better prepared to navigate their academic journey and actively contribute to student activities within the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu.
