
Marine Science Study Program and Fisheries Science Study Program Host Public Lecture on Marine and Fisheries Surveillance Regulations
In commemoration of the Service Day (Hari Bakti) of the Directorate General of Marine and Fisheries Resources Surveillance (PSDKP) 2025, the Study Program of Marine Science and the Study Program of Fisheries Science at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu (UNIB), joint-hosted a public lecture (Kuliah Umum) focused on the governance and legal frameworks surrounding Indonesia’s aquatic ecosystems.
The event, titled “Sosialisasi Peraturan Perundang-undangan terkait Pengawasan Sumberdaya Kelautan dan Perikanan” (Socialization of Laws and Regulations Related to Marine and Fisheries Resource Surveillance), took place on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, starting at 13:00 WIB in the Deanery Meeting Room, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu.
The session featured Drs. Halid K. Jusuf, MPA, Director of Fisheries Resource Surveillance at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia (KKP RI), as the keynote speaker.
During the lecture, Drs. Halid K. Jusuf highlighted key regulatory updates, surveillance strategies, and the critical importance of law enforcement in protecting marine biodiversity and managing sustainable fisheries. The event provided students, faculty, and researchers from both study programs with valuable insights into national policies, compliance mechanisms, and the practical challenges of safeguarding Indonesia’s vast marine resources.
Organized by the Department of Marine Science and the Department of Fisheries Science, this public lecture served as a strategic platform to strengthen academic engagement with national regulatory bodies, reinforcing their commitment to sustainable marine and fisheries resource management.
