
Doctoral Program in Agricultural Science Holds Colloquium on Sustainable Management of Rice Fields in Mukomuko Regency
As part of the academic process prior to conducting field research, the Doctoral Program in Agricultural Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, organized a Doctoral Colloquium (Proposal Seminar) on Friday, August 29, 2025. The event took place at the Main Hall of the Graduate Building, Faculty of Agriculture, starting at 2:30 PM.
The colloquium is an essential stage for doctoral candidates to present and defend their research proposal before beginning fieldwork. It serves as a platform to refine research objectives, methodology, and expected contributions through academic discussion and feedback from a panel of examiners.
The session featured a presentation by Dodi Hardiansyah from the Doctoral Program in Agricultural Science, who delivered a proposal titled “Strategy for Protection and Sustainable Management of Rice Field Areas in Mukomuko Regency.” The proposed research aims to formulate effective strategies for protecting rice field ecosystems while ensuring their sustainable governance in the face of agricultural land-use changes. This study holds relevance for regional food security and the development of sustainable agricultural policies.
The panel of examiners consisted of Prof. Dr. M. Faiz Barchia, M.Sc.; Dr. Ir. Sumardi, M.P.; Dr. M. Mustopa Romdhon, SP., M.Si.; Dr. Sukisno, SP., M.Si.; and Prof. Dr. Ir. Satria Putra Utama, M.Sc. Their active engagement provided valuable academic input, strengthening the conceptual and methodological aspects of the proposed research.
