Prof. Agus Susatya, PSDA Lecturer at UNIB, Publishes Book on Campus Tree Diversity and Dendrology

Prof. Agus Susatya, a lecturer in the Doctoral Program of Natural Resources Management (PSDA) at Universitas Bengkulu (UNIB), has published a new book titled Kekayaan Jenis Pohon di Kampus UNIB dan Dendrologi, released by UNIB PRESS. The book aims to document the diversity of tree species on the UNIB campus through the lens of dendrology, a branch of botany focused on the taxonomic identification of trees in an accessible and practical way.

Featuring 59 tree species, the book provides detailed photographic documentation of leaves, stems, flowers, and fruits, helping readers connect dendrology theory with real-life observations. An essential component of the book is the practical identification key, designed based on scientific dendrological characteristics of trees found on campus. Each species is described concisely, highlighting its key traits (spot characters), geographic distribution, and special notes.

This publication not only serves as a valuable reference for students, particularly those in forestry programs, to strengthen their competencies, but also offers guidance for developing a more environmentally friendly campus landscape. By combining theory, field documentation, and systematic identification, Prof. Agus Susatya’s book is a significant contribution to both education and sustainable campus management.
