The team of lecturers from the Agribusiness Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu (UNIB) together with students carried out community service activities by providing counseling to the mothers of the Ujung Karang Village Women's Farmers Group (KWT), Karang Tinggi District, Central Bengkulu Regency regarding the Development of Bumdesa Resource Capacity. The activity was carried out on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. The team of lecturers involved in the activity were Ridha Rizki Novanda, SE., M.Si as the team leader and Dr. Gita Mulyasari, SP., M.Si as a member. This activity involved a team of students and KWT mothers, namely KWT Mandiri and KWT Serumpun Makmur totaling 18 people from Ujung Karang Village. The purpose of the outreach activity is to help improve the understanding of the KWT mothers of Ujung Karang Village regarding the development of Bumdesa resource capacity, which includes: a) Definition of BUMDes : Explain what BUMDes is, the legal basis for establishing BUMDes (such as Village Law No. 6 of 2014), and its main objective to improve the village economy. b) The Role of BUMDes in the Village Economy : BUMDes as one of the economic drivers in the village which is managed independently, with the aim of providing economic benefits to the village community. c) Potential and Challenges : Discussion on the potential that can be explored by BUMDes as well as the challenges often faced such as lack of capital, limited human resources, and unprofessional management. This community service activity is a real manifestation of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education by lecturers of the UNIB Agribusiness Study Program in an effort to inform and disseminate appropriate technology in the community. This counseling is expected to help service partners (KWT mothers) to be able to develop Bumdesa sustainably. The implementation of the counseling activity began with a material delivery session. In this session, the KWT mothers were active and enthusiastic in listening to the material assisted by the posters that were distributed. The KWT mothers also asked many questions that made understanding of the related material more optimal. This counseling activity was able to increase the knowledge of the KWT mothers in Ujung Karang Village regarding the development of Bumdesa capacity. From the joint discussion, it was also obtained that the KWT mothers also have the potential to help in the development of Bumdesa sustainably. This opens up new insights for the counseling participants.
