EASY DIGITAL FINANCIAL REPORTING PRACTICES FOR KWT IN DURIAN DEMANG VILLAGE, CENTRAL BENGKULU REGENCY

On Tuesday, September 25, 2024 an interesting initiative was carried out by Bengkulu University Agribusiness Lecturers who conducted Community Service in Durian Demang Village, Central Bengkulu Regency. This service emphasizes the importance of managing finances that are easy and simple with the help of digital applications for the Women Farmers Group (KWT). The community service team was led by Netta Agusti, M.E.Sy and Ir. Ellys Yuliarti, M.Si as members.

The service team directly met the residents at the work site. This activity was attended by around 25 KWT members who came from various ages and educational backgrounds. The purpose of this training is to improve the understanding and skills of KWT members in managing their business finances using digital technology. Netta explained that with the use of a simple application, farmer groups such as KWT can easily record income, expenses, and monitor the financial development of their business.

According to Netta, many farmer groups, including KWT in Durian Demang Village, still use manual recording systems or cash books that are prone to errors. “The use of digital financial applications will greatly help them to be more efficient in managing finances, as well as make it easier for them to report to parties in need, such as financial institutions or the government,” said Netta.

The training began with an introduction to various types of financial applications that can be used by village communities, including applications that are lightweight and easy to operate by those who are not familiar with technology. In addition, Ellys also emphasized the importance of a basic understanding of simple accounting principles, such as bookkeeping that records every transaction accurately and in detail.
One of the participants, Siti Aminah, expressed her gratitude for this training. “In the past we only wrote reports in notebooks, often forgetting to record or miscalculating.” she said. The same thing was also expressed by the Head of KWT Durian Demang Village, Rahmawati, who felt that this activity was very useful for the continuity of their agricultural business.

In the future, the study program plans to continue assisting farmer groups in various other villages in implementing digital technology to increase the productivity and sustainability of their businesses. Similar activities will also be carried out in several other villages in the Seluma region, with the aim of encouraging local economic growth through empowering smart and independent farm women.
