Socialization Implementation of Operations Management for Sari Gizi SMEs
Business development is needed by micro, small, and medium enterprises (SMEs) for sustainability. SMEs must face increasingly fierce competition considering the increasing number of new SMEs from year to year.
One of the difficulties experienced by SMEs is that management or business management is not yet optimal. Business management will affect SMEs' revenue, sales, and product quality.
Therefore, the Agribusiness Study Program dedication team at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu took the initiative to socialize SMEs business management.
The dedication team is chaired by Dr. Ir. Reflis, M.Sc. along with team members consisting of Ir. Nyayu Neti Arianti, M.Sc. and Lathifah Khairani, S.P., M.Sc.
In addition, the community service activities also involved a team of students from the Agribusiness Study Program consisting of Agustina Dwi Lestari, Efni and Widianti.
The socialization was carried out to Sari Gizi SMEs (Kamiso Karto), which is one of the food processing industries made from banana agricultural products, including banana chips, sanjai chips, and banana sale. The UMKM location is at Cokro Aminoto No. 66 A, Sidorejo, Central Curup, Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu.
This socialization activity was carried out to help increase the knowledge and understanding of Sari Gizi (Kamiso Karto) SMEs related to the implementation of management functions in UMKM including production and operations, marketing, finance, and human resources. The service team also evaluates the management that has been carried out so far.
The service team also provided pocket books in the form of explanations about SMEs and simple financial recording sheets to help SMEs make regular financial records.
Overall, SMEs have understood how to manage their business more efficiently and effectively. The existence of good business management will help SMEs to develop their business.
This service activity is considered very useful for SMEs to be able to implement good business management. The existence of good business management will help SMEs have a business that is feasible to run based on the feasibility study conducted, have a clear business development and operational plan, have a clear legal entity business and have financial reports that will be useful for business continuity, optimal profit, submission credit.
