ENHANCING COMPETENCE AND DEVELOPING MANAGEMENT RESOURCES OF Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes) IN PEKIK NYARING VILLAGE, PONDOK KELAPA SUB-DISTRICT, CENTRAL BENGKULU REGENCY
The community service team from the Agribusiness Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, conducted a community service activity in Pekik Nyaring Village, specifically at the Village Hall provided for this purpose. This activity was carried out in collaboration with the government of Pekik Nyaring Village, Pondok Kelapa Sub-district, Central Bengkulu Regency. Pekik Nyaring Village serves as one of the fostered villages of the University of Bengkulu and is included as a target area for community service initiatives.
This activity was carried out on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in accordance with the predetermined schedule. The community service program began with an opening ceremony and briefing at the Pekik Nyaring Village Hall, following the agenda prepared jointly by the village administration and the community service team. The location of the activity is approximately 5 kilometers from the University of Bengkulu to the Pekik Nyaring Village Hall..
The materials were delivered by the community service team consisting of Prof. Irnad, Dr. M. Zulkarnain Yuliarso, and Mr. Rihan Ifebri. The targets of this community service activity were the management of the Pekik Nyaring Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes), village officials, and community representatives in and around Pekik Nyaring Village.
Based on interviews with the village officials, it was found that the Pekik Nyaring BUMDes had not yet fully understood or implemented its institutional functions. Therefore, the team aimed to provide counseling and guidance on the importance of institutional strengthening of BUMDes as well as the capacity of its human resources. In addition, the BUMDes management needs to understand key factors that support its success, such as market access, technology, and partnership development.
It is expected that through this program, the management of BUMDes Pekik Nyaring will be able to utilize the knowledge and information gained to further develop the enterprise. This activity will also continue in the form of consultation and feedback sessions for BUMDes Pekik Nyaring. In the future, it is hoped that community service programs with other relevant themes can be implemented to further support the development of BUMDes Pekik Nyaring according to its existing conditions.
