INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DEPARTURE FOR AGROECOTECHNOLOGY STUDENTS

The Agroecotechnology study program held a departure event for internship students at GB 1, Faculty of Agriculture, on Monday, June 3, 2024. A total of 71 students participated in the KAS internship program. The event was attended by the Coordinator of the Agroecotechnology Study Program, Mr. Ir. Eko Suprijono, MP, the Head of the Agricultural Cultivation Department, Prof. Dr. Ir. Reny Herawati, MP, and the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Prof. Heri Dwi Putranto.

As the Coordinator of the Agroecotechnology Study Program, Mr. Ir. Eko Suprijono, MP, stated that the internship is an activity where students interact with the professional world before graduating from university. The experience gained during the internship is crucial for students to prepare themselves for entering the workforce, while also gaining new knowledge and information during the internship. The internship will take place from June 5 to July 26, 2024.

There are 22 institutions/companies serving as internship locations across three provinces: North Sumatra, Bengkulu, and South Sumatra. Some of the companies in the palm oil plantation sector include PT. Agromuko, PT. Sandabi Indah Lestari, PT. Agricinal, PT Agro Muara Rupit Wes, PT Bio Nusantara Teknologi, and PT. Mitra Puding Mas. CV. Yahyo was chosen by the study program for palm oil seedling. Other institutions in the horticulture sector include PT. TOBO AGRICULTURE GROUP, Millennial Farmers’ Melon Garden, Ihsan Farm, Humus Rejang Rekayasa D’Compos, and the Horticultural Seed Center.
