Agroecotechnology Student from the University of Bengkulu Wins 1st Place in National Poster Competition

Palembang, October 25, 2025 — Another proud achievement has been made by a student of the Agroecotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu. Bayu Ikhwani, a 2023 cohort student, successfully won 1st Place in the Poster Competition during the GENTA (Gerakan Nyata Agroekoteknologi) event with his poster titled “BUMI BUTUH MASA DEPAN” (“The Earth Needs a Future”). The competition was held at Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang from October 23–25, 2025.

The poster competition was participated in by students from six universities across Sumatra Island, including University of Bengkulu, University of Lampung, University of Baturaja, University of Sriwijaya, University of Jambi, and Islamic University of North Sumatra.

Carrying the sub-theme “Cultivate with Love, Consume Wisely,” Bayu presented a creative concept emphasizing the importance of raising awareness among younger generations about food sustainability through responsible and eco-friendly consumption behavior.

Bayu’s remarkable achievement is expected to inspire other students to continue striving for excellence and to bring pride to the University of Bengkulu at both regional and national levels.

“We are very proud of Bayu’s achievement. His work is not only visually appealing but also conveys a strong message about food sustainability,” said Prof. Ir. Catur Herison, M.Sc, Head of the Agroecotechnology Study Program.

This achievement reflects the strong commitment of the Agroecotechnology Study Program, University of Bengkulu, to encourage students to actively compete, innovate, and contribute to sustainable agricultural development.
