
UNIB Agroecotechnology Students Selected for International Organic Agriculture Internship in Thailand
Bengkulu, 2026 — Two students from the Agroecotechnology Study Program, Department of Crop Production, University of Bengkulu (UNIB), have been selected to participate in an international research internship in organic agriculture in Bangkok, Thailand.
The students, Irvani (E1J023052) and Gideon Palarenius Lumban Batu (E1J023033), will undergo a three-month internship from March to July 2026, focusing on research training in organic agriculture innovation.
Strengthening International Research Experience
The internship is hosted by the Research Institute of Modern Organic Agriculture and supervised by Prof. Kasem Soytong and Dr. Jiaojiao Song. During the program, the students will engage in both laboratory and field-based research activities, supported by facilities and funding from the Association of Agricultural Technology in Southeast Asia.
This program is part of an international collaboration designed to strengthen students’ competencies in modern organic agriculture, while expanding their exposure to global research environments.
Integrating Research into Academic Achievement
The outcomes of the internship will be directly integrated into the students’ academic journey. Both participants are expected to develop their undergraduate theses based on the research conducted during the program, under the supervision of lecturers from the Department of Crop Production at UNIB.
This initiative reflects the commitment of the Agroecotechnology Study Program to combine international research experience with academic completion, preparing students to become competitive graduates in the field of sustainable agriculture.
