
HIMAGROTEK UNIB Conducts Social Service Camp (KBS) 2026 in North Bengkulu
Bengkulu, April 2026 — The Agroecotechnology Student Association (HIMAGROTEK), Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu (UNIB), is currently conducting the Social Service Camp (Kemah Bakti Sosial/KBS) 2026 in Kemumu Village, Arga Makmur District, North Bengkulu.
The program is scheduled to take place from April 16–19, 2026, carrying the theme “Implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education to Foster Socially Responsible Students.”
Two-Stage Opening and Participant Handover
The KBS program officially began with an opening ceremony on Thursday, April 16, 2026, held at the Multimedia Room of the Agronomy Laboratory, University of Bengkulu. The event marked the formal launch of the program and was attended by faculty representatives, HIMAGROTEK advisors, and invited guests.
The following day, on Friday, April 17, 2026, activities continued at the main location in Kemumu Village, where participants were formally handed over to the local community. This handover symbolized the start of students’ direct engagement in social and agricultural activities in the village.
Strengthening Student Engagement in the Field
During the program, students are involved in a series of social, educational, and agricultural activities, allowing them to apply their academic knowledge in real-world contexts. These activities aim to strengthen students’ understanding of rural agricultural conditions while fostering meaningful interaction with the local community.
Institutional Support
The opening ceremony was officiated by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation, Dr. Hesti Pujiwati, S.P., M.Si. The event was also attended by Prof. Reny Herawati, Head of the Department of Crop Production, along with lecturers, HIMAGROTEK advisors, and members of the Agroecotechnology academic community.
Expected Outcomes
The KBS program is expected to enhance students’ technical competencies, social awareness, and problem-solving skills, while contributing to community development in Kemumu Village.
The program will conclude with the closing session and the return of participants to the University of Bengkulu on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
