UNIB Lecturer Develops Various Health Drinks Made From Alang-Alang Rhizome

UNIB lecturers develop various health drinks processed with the essential ingredients of the alang-alang rhizome. The drink made from alang-alang rhizome is one of the products of the Community Service (PPM) activity which carries the theme “Utilization of Alang-alang rhizome as a Basic Ingredients for Health Drinks in Cawang Lama Village, Rejang Lebong.”

This service activity was carried out by two Unib lecturers, namely Prof. Ir Nanik Setyowati, M.Sc., Ph.D. and Dr. Ir. Uswatun Nurjanah, M.P. and assisted by a student Amudasub Zaulajad on Saturday, May 14, 2022. On the PPM opportunity, the Lurah of Cawang Lama, Rejang Lebong Regency, Iskak welcomed this activity and expressed his deepest gratitude to the team of UNIB lecturers who have been willing to share knowledge and direct practice of using alang-alang grass as raw material for making health drinks, and asked the public to pay attention and understand the activity until it was over. The village head also advised his residents to practice the knowledge they had acquired in their respective homes.
