GENDER RESPONSIVE VILLAGE AND SOCIAL INCLUSION GOING TO SDGs VILLAGE
Gender issues are one of the points in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs are a continuation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) that ended in 2015. Gender equality is listed in the 5th goal of the SDGs, namely “Achieving Gender Equality and Empowering Women”. Gender is a multidimensional issue. This issue includes health, education and economic aspects which are also the focus of the SDGs. In addition to being specifically included in the fifth goal, gender issues are also covered by almost all goals in the sustainable development goals (KEMENPPA and BPS, 2018). Universities also play a role in achieving gender equality, including through the Community Service (PPM) program. The Service Team from the Master’s Level Agribusiness Study Program (S2) on October 25, 2022 has carried out technical guidance for village officials and mothers of the Lokasi Baru Village PKK management regarding the Involvement of Village Human Resources in Gender-Perspective Development.
The stages start from the socialization of the establishment of Gender Responsive Villages and Social Inclusion in the Context of Realizing Village SDGs. The 10 characteristics of Gender Responsive and Social Inclusion Villages are (1) Women and men have the same opportunities and abilities in obtaining information; (2) Women and men have an equal opportunity to obtain a service; (3) Women and men have been involved in the process of planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating programs and budgets; (4) The number of women and men participating is fair and equal; (5) The participation of women and men according to their respective roles, not just complementary; (6) The decision-making process has involved women and men equally; (7) There is a female representative in the decision-making position; (8) Women and men alike have decision-making authority; (9) Women and men are equal beneficiaries of development; and (10) Women and men derive development benefits directly or indirectly.
