Director Research Institute of Modern Organic Agriculture (RIMOA) Visited Organic Farmers in Rejang Lebong
Professor Kasem Soytong, President, Association of Agricultural Technology in Southeast Asia (AATSEA), Professor in King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Ladkrabang, Bangkok, and Director Research Institute of Modern Organic Agriculture (RIMOA) visited organic vegetable farmers in Kali Padang, Selupu Rejang, Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu. His courtesy visit on April 24th, 2026 was accompanied by PSDIP home-based lecturers as well as the young scientist from Faculty of Agriculture University of Bengkulu.
During his field trip, accompanied by Dr. Jiaojiao Song, Professor Kasem met with the farmers and conducted field assessments to organic-vegetable growing practices by the farmers. Their evaluations found that the organically growing leaf celery, broccoli, chili pepper, spring onion were organically accepted. They also found similar conclusion to organically grown orange and strawberry.
This visit was very important to PSDIP as well as Faculty of Agriculture since many research involving both students and lecturers were conducted around this area. During the visit, farmers, agricultural extension officers, and the young scientist from Faculty of Agriculture enjoyed very inspiring discussion with Professor Soytong.
