The academic community of the Doctoral Program in Agricultural Sciences (Program Studi Doktor Ilmu Pertanian/PSDIP), Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Bengkulu, welcomed its new students for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. This year, PSDIP admitted two new doctoral students, Muh. Noor Alawie from the Agricultural Extension Agency of Seluma Regency, Tais, and Andreani Kinata from Universitas Ratu Samban, Arga Makmur. The two students will pursue their doctoral studies in the fields of Plant Breeding and Crop Production Technology, respectively. As part of the initial stage of their doctoral education, both students participated in an academic program orientation held on August 29, 2026.

During the orientation, the Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Agricultural Sciences introduced the students to various academic aspects and program requirements that they will need to fulfill throughout their doctoral studies at PSDIP, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Bengkulu. The orientation also provided an opportunity for the new students to gain a better understanding of the stages of doctoral study, learning processes, research activities, and other academic requirements that will support them in achieving the expected competencies as doctoral graduates.

In addition to academic matters, the students were introduced to various facilities and academic resources available at Universitas Bengkulu and the Faculty of Agriculture. These facilities are expected to be utilized optimally to support their learning, research, scientific publication, and timely completion of their doctoral studies. The two new doctoral students will begin their coursework in the first week of September 2026. The first-semester lectures for the 2026/2027 Academic Year are scheduled to conclude in the second week of December 2026.

The Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Agricultural Sciences expressed the hope that both new students would actively and consistently participate in all stages of their doctoral education, engage in academic and research activities, and complete their studies on time with excellent academic achievements and research outcomes.   The admission of these new doctoral students is expected to further strengthen the contribution of PSDIP, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Bengkulu, to producing highly qualified, innovative doctoral graduates who can make meaningful contributions to scientific advancement and sustainable agricultural development.
