Lecturer of the Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu Attends and Participates in the National Seminar and FKPT-TPI Semi-Annual Meeting Organized by the Faculty of Agricultural Technology Andalas University

On Wednesday and Thursday, June 7 and 8 2023, a National Seminar and FKPT-TPI Semi-Annual Meeting will be held as well as a Fieldtrip Explore SUMBAR organized by the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Andalas University. The National Seminar and FKPT-TPI Semi-Annual Meeting was held on Wednesday 7 June 2023 at Prince Beach Hotel Padang with the theme “innovative and sustainable agricultural technology to support the competitiveness of local superior products and entrepreneurship 4.0”. This activity was carried out online and offline and was attended by academics and professionals from educational institutions, research institutions, industry, and related policy holders with a total of 130 seminar participants.

Lecturers from the Department of Agricultural Technology, University of Bengkulu also participated in activities as participants in national seminars and speakers at the semi-annual meeting that was held. The lecturers from the Department of Agricultural Technology, University of Bengkulu who took part in the activity were Ir. Lukman Hidayat, MP., Dr. Ir. Damres Uker, M.Sc., Ir. Maniza, M.Si., Ir. Laili Susanti, M.Si., Dra. Devi Silsia, M.Sc., and Ika Gusriani, STP, M.Sc

The national seminar presented keynote speakers from the Director of Research, Technology and Community Service, Ministry of Education and Culture, Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Faiz Syuaib, M.Agr. and the Governor of West Sumatra H. Mahyeldi Ansharullah, SP.

The activity continued with the presentation of papers from five speakers including Dr. Ir. Sarifah Nurjanah, M.App.Sc. Dean of FTIP Padjadjaran University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Eni Harmayani, M.Sc. Dean of FTP, Gadjah Mada University, Dr. Ir. Alfi Asben, M.Sc. Andalas University FTP Dean, Ir. Mukhlis Bahrainy from the CEO of Pachira Group and Ir. Fidri Arnaldy Main Director of Bank DKI.

Novizar as the head of the national seminar who is also a professor from Andalas University FTP said “This National Seminar is a concrete manifestation of our commitment to continue to develop the agricultural sector in our country. In the era of globalization and the industrial revolution 4.0 which continues to move forward, technological development is one of the important keys in increasing the competitiveness of local superior products and encouraging the growth of entrepreneurship in agriculture. Then innovative and sustainable agricultural technology has a strategic role in facing increasingly complex challenges in this modern era. Through the application of the right technology, we can accelerate the increase in productivity, efficiency and quality of agricultural products. More than that, Technology can also open up new opportunities for local businesses to develop superior products that can compete at the national and international levels.

This national seminar activity aims to disseminate quality and useful research results in implementing technological innovations in agriculture that can support the sustainability of local superior products and entrepreneurship in the current era of the industrial revolution 4.0. In parallel, national seminar activities were also held and the FKPT-TPI Semi-Annual Meeting. Discussion activities and semi-annual meetings are held in 3 different rooms with scientific fields and the focus of each academician, while the division of rooms is agricultural and biosystem engineering, food technology and agricultural products, and agricultural industrial engineering. The meeting discussed the development of agricultural technology in Indonesia, strengthening professional organizations, and the role and existence of organizational forums.

On Thursday, June 8 2023, a Fieldtrip Explore SUMBAR was held which was attended by various academics and professionals from educational institutions and research institutions who were participants in the National Seminar and FKPT-TPI Mid-Annual Meeting which was held last Wednesday.
