Use of Food Additives in Food and Drinks in Pematang Gubernur Village, Muara Bangkahulu District, Bengkulu City

On Saturday 26 August 2023 a community service activity was carried out at the Pematang Gubernur Village Head’s office with the title of the activity namely the use of Food Additives (BTP) in food and beverages in the Pematang Gubernur Village, Muara Bangkahulu District, Bengkulu City. The activity aims to increase understanding and provide information to the target community in the form of food additives that can be used to manufacture food products and other ingredients that may not be added to food.

The service implementation team is lecturers from the Department of Agricultural Technology, University of Bengkulu, namely Ir. Lukman Hidayat, MP., Ir. Wuri Marsigit, M.App.Sc., and Ir. Laili Susanti, M.Si., assisted by her students. This community service activity was attended by 35 participants and was also attended by invitees, namely the PKK chairman and the Head of the Pematang Gubernur Village.

The activity was opened directly by the Pematang Gubernur Village Head of Bengkulu City, and was immediately followed by the delivery of material regarding the use of food additives by Ir. Laili Susanti, M.Sc. After delivering the material, the activity continued with a question and answer session. The enthusiasm of the participants was so great because most of them were members of the PKK making food preparations and products, so there were many questions and they became material for discussion until the activity ended. Before the activity ended, the Student Creativity Program team for Entrepreneurship or PKM K, namely the Clupi team, introduced their processed products to all participants and distributed free Clupi drinks while explaining the advantages of the products made. The PKM Clupi team are students from the Department of Agricultural Technology who are under the guidance of Ir. Lukman Hidayat, MP and currently implementing the Student Creativity Program. The final session closed with a group photo with all the committee and activity participants.
