The Head of the Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, Dr. Yessy Rosalina, S.T.P., M.Si., participated in a series of International Community Service activities as well as the 2026 Seminar and Mid-Year Working Meeting of the Communication Forum of Indonesian Agricultural Technology Universities (FKPT-PTI) which was held on July 8-10, 2026 at Andalas University, Padang, West Sumatra.

The activity organized by the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (Fateta) Andalas University in collaboration with FKPT-PTI carried the theme “Strengthening the Agricultural Technology Curriculum and Accreditation to Support Graduates’ Readiness in the World of Work.” The seminar and working meeting are part of a series of commemorations of the 70th Anniversary of Andalas University and the 18th Anniversary of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Andalas University.

A total of around 115 participants from various universities in Indonesia attended this activity. Participants consisted of deans, heads of departments, heads of study programs, lecturers, researchers, and representatives of professional associations from various institutions, including Andalas University, IPB University, Gadjah Mada University, Brawijaya University, Hasanuddin University, University of Jember, Sriwijaya University, Syiah Kuala University, University of Lampung, University of Mataram, University of Bengkulu, State University of Makassar, Sebelas Maret University, Jenderal Soedirman University, University of Papua,  Mulawarman University, Musamus University, Sumatra Institute of Technology (ITERA), Payakumbuh State Agricultural Polytechnic, Open University, and various other public and private universities.

The FKPT-PTI Forum is a strategic forum for academics to strengthen cooperation networks, share good practices in the implementation of higher education, and formulate the direction of agricultural technology education development that is adaptive to the needs of the world of work and the development of science and technology.

In addition to seminars and work meetings, a series of activities also included the Agricultural Technology Student Innovation Competition which was attended by 92 teams from various universities in Indonesia. After going through the selection stage, as many as nine of the best teams managed to advance to the final round and present their innovations in front of the jury.

The activity then continued with International Community Service which was held in Nagari Koto Tengah, Agam Regency, West Sumatra. This program is a collaboration between FKPT-PTI, the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Andalas University, universities in Malaysia, and the LPDP Equity Program. The service raised the theme “Innovation in Kamang Cassava Cracker Processing Technology to Improve Product Quality and Competitiveness to the International Market.”

The participation of the University of Bengkulu in this activity shows the commitment of the Department of Agricultural Technology to continue to strengthen national and international networks in the fields of education, research, and community service. The presence of Dr. Yessy Rosalina is expected to expand collaboration between universities, encourage the development of curricula relevant to industry needs, and increase the contribution of the University of Bengkulu in the development of competitive agricultural technology innovations at the global level.

Through participation in the FKPT-PTI 2026 forum, the Department of Agricultural Technology at the University of Bengkulu also obtained various strategic inputs related to strengthening academic quality, implementing an outcome-based curriculum, increasing study program accreditation, and opportunities for research collaboration and service with universities at home and abroad. This step is expected to further strengthen the role of the University of Bengkulu in producing graduates who are superior, innovative, and ready to face the challenges of the world of work and the development of agricultural technology in the future.
