Guest Lecture of the S1 Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program, University of Bengkulu Presents PT Mayora Practitioners
The S1 Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu held a Guest Lecture on Friday, October 2, 2026 by presenting industry practitioners as well as alumni of the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program who work at PT Mayora. The activity, which was carried out online through Zoom Meeting, raised the theme “Connecting Classroom to Industry: Implementation of Operations and Quality Control Units in the Food Industry”.
The activity was attended by students of the Agricultural Industrial Technology S1 Study Program who were taking the Operations and Quality Control Unit course. The guest lecture presented Egi Reza Nopriyansyah, S.T.P., Alumni of the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program class of 2016 who is currently working in the Quality Control (QC) Unit of PT Mayora, as a resource person. The presence of alumni who have gone directly into the industrial world provides an opportunity for students to get a real picture of the application of the knowledge learned during lectures in a professional work environment.
In his presentation, the resource person provided insight to students about the application of operation units and quality control in the food industry process. Students also gained an overview of work practices in the industry, aspects of quality control, and various challenges faced in maintaining product quality and ensuring that the production process runs in accordance with the set standards.
The activity went smoothly and received high enthusiasm from students. This can be seen from the many questions and discussions that took place during the interaction session with the speakers. Students actively explore information about the application of the material learned in lectures in real situations in the industrial environment, including work experience and competencies needed for a career in the food industry.
The presence of alumni as resource persons also provides its own added value to activities. Egi Reza Nopriyansyah’s experience as a graduate of the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program who is now pursuing a career in the industry is a real picture for students regarding career development opportunities after completing their education. This interaction also strengthens the relationship between study programs, students, and alumni.
Through this activity, students are expected to better understand the relevance of the Operations and Quality Control Unit courses to the needs of the world of work and gain an overview of the competencies needed for a career in the food industry. The S1 Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program will continue to encourage learning activities that connect academic theory with practical experience, including through collaboration with practitioners and alumni.
