An atmosphere full of familiarity colored the retirement activities of Ir. Hidayat Koto, M.Sc. which was held at the Department of Agricultural Technology, University of Bengkulu on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The activity was held after a series of competitions in order to enliven the 81st Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. This retirement moment became even more special because it coincided with the birthday of Ir. Hidayat Koto, M.Sc., so that the two moments were celebrated simply with the big family of the Department of Agricultural Technology.

The event began with blowing out candles and cutting cakes as an expression of gratitude as well as a birthday celebration. The atmosphere then continued with the giving of retirement greetings from lecturers and department representatives as a form of appreciation for the dedication and contribution of Ir. Hidayat Koto, M.Sc. while carrying out his duties in the academic environment.

Furthermore, Ir. Hidayat Koto, M.Sc. conveyed his impressions and messages in the moment of retirement. The event then continued with the delivery of impressions and messages from the lecturers of the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program, Department of Agricultural Technology. The various expressions conveyed were part of the appreciation and memories of the togetherness that had been established during the service period.

Emotional and nostalgic moments are increasingly felt through the screening of a video documenting the journey of Ir. Hidayat Koto, M.Sc. The video features various photos and documentation of memories during his service. Not only documentation of activities, the video also contains speeches, impressions, and messages from alumni, which is a form of appreciation as well as memories from students who have had academic experience and interacted with him.

The retirement activity was closed with lunch with the entire extended family of the Department of Agricultural Technology. Although it was carried out simply, the activity became a meaningful momentum to give appreciation for the service of Ir. Hidayat Koto, M.Sc., as well as strengthen the friendship and togetherness between lecturers, education staff, and the extended family of the Department of Agricultural Technology, University of Bengkulu.
