2 UNIB Forestry Lecturers Receive Funding for Community Service Program 2024

Two lecturers from the Department of Forestry at the University of Bengkulu (UNIB) obtained funding for the Community Service Program (PPM) PNBP LPPM-UNIB in 2024. They are Hefri Oktoyoki, S.Hut., M.Si and Guswarni Anwar, PhD,- each leading a community service team with a different scheme.

The team led by Hefri Oktoyoki, S.Hut., M.Si got funding from the PMM Pembinaan scheme. Their project is entitled “Utilization of Waste Coffee Skins into Biobriquettes as an Environmentally Friendly Energy Solution and Alternative of Income for Tanjung Dalam Village Farmers.” This dedication aims to transform coffee skin waste into bio briquettes, an innovative solution for environmentally friendly energy and an additional source of income for farmers in Tanjung Dalam Village.

Meanwhile, Guswarni Anwar, PhD and her team won funding through the PMM IPTEKS UNIB scheme. Their project is titled “Increasing Income and Family Health of the Kemumu Village Community with the Production of White Oyster Mushroom Processing for the Prevention and Treatment of Children Stunting and Malnutrition.” This team focuses on producing processed white oyster mushrooms to increase income and family health in Kemumu Village, focusing on preventing and handling cases of stunting and malnutrition.

These two PMM show the commitment of UNIB forestry lecturers to presenting innovative solutions that have a positive impact on the environment and the well-being of the local community. It is expected that the results of these projects will make a significant contribution to the development and improvement of the quality of life in the area.
