The Forestry students of FP UNIB managed to get funds for the PKM-PM 2023 program, Kemenristekdikti.

The Forestry Department of UNIB celebrates the success of a group of Forestry students in qualifying for the 2023 Community Service Student Creativity Program (PKM-PM). This group has successfully passed rigorous selection and received funding for innovative community service proposals that have the potential to have a positive impact on society.

This group of forestry students consisting of five people, submitted a proposal that focused on efforts to educate elementary school children on turtle conservation through the media of learning Pop-Up books and kinesthetic methods. They were guided directly by Prof. Agus Susatya, lecturer in the Forestry Department at UNIB.

Surya Mardiana, head of this program, said, “We are very excited and proud of our proposal being passed to PKM-PM 2023. This is an opportunity for us to make a real contribution to the surrounding community and educate them about the importance of protecting the environment,”

Head of Forestry Department, Ir. Edi Suharto, MP, also congratulated the student group. He supported their efforts in carrying out sustainable community service projects. The Head of the Department of Forestry also emphasized the important role of students in participating in sustainable development and environmental protection.

The Community Service Student Creativity Program (PKM-PM) is a national program organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education. This program encourages students to play an active role in developing creativity and innovation to solve societal problems.

UNIB Forestry student groups who have passed the PKM-PM 2023 selection will receive funding and assistance from the government to carry out their community service projects. Their success in passing this selection proves their commitment and hard work in making a real contribution to the community and the surrounding environment.

With high enthusiasm, the UNIB Forestry student group hopes their project can provide long-term benefits to the community and inspire other students to be involved in positive and sustainable community service activities.
