Release of Sustainable Forest Management (PHL) Internship Students

Bengkulu, June 14, 2024 – The Forestry Department at Universitas Bengkulu (UNIB) held a release ceremony for students participating in the Sustainable Forest Management (PHL) internship program. The event was attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, the Head of the Forestry Study Program, the Head of the Environmental Science Study Program, and several faculty members.

A total of 67 forestry students will undertake internships at various locations, including:

  1. Balai Besar Taman Nasional Kerinci Sebelat (TNKS), Kerinci
  2. Balai Besar TNKS Region 3 Curup
  3. BPDAS Ketahun
  4. KPHP Lakitan Bukit Cogong, South Sumatra
  5. PT. RAPP, Riau
  6. TWA Seblat
  7. PT. REKI, Jambi
  8. PT. SiPEF, Muko-Muko
  9. Balai TN Gunung Ciremai, West Java
  10. Balai TN Way Kambas, Lampung

This internship program is a significant part of the student’s academic journey. It provides practical experience and exposure to various aspects of sustainable forest management. It aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute effectively to Indonesia’s forest conservation and management efforts.

During the ceremony, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs emphasized the importance of this internship in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. He encouraged the students to take full advantage of this opportunity to learn from field professionals and apply their learning to real-world challenges.

The Heads of the Forestry and Environmental Science Study Programs also expressed their confidence in the student’s ability to excel during their internships and to bring back valuable insights that would enrich their academic and professional development.

The faculty members present wished the students success and reminded them to uphold the values and principles of sustainable forest management throughout their internship period.
