The Forestry Department held a public lecture on “Aristolochia (Aristolochiaceae): Ecology and Evolution perspective.”

The Department of Forestry has successfully held a public lecture on “Ecology and Evolution of Aristolochia (Aristolochiaceae).” The speaker at this event was Prof. Dr. Stefan Wankle from the Institute of Botany Technische Universitat Dresden, Germany, accompanied by researchers from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). Aristolochia is a genus of evergreen and deciduous lianas (woody vines) and herbaceous perennials.

The event was attended by lecturers from the UNIB forestry department, students, and lecturers from other study programs at the Faculty of Agriculture. The vice dean for academics, Prof. Yansen, opened this event directly.

Prof. Agus Sustya, known as a UNIB Rafflesia expert, was the moderator for thisGeneral Lecture. The material presented by Prof. Wankle caught the attention of the participants. Prof. Wankle shared his various experiences and expertise in researching Aristolochia in multiple places worldwide. The fascinating discussion ended with awarding plaques and certificates to the speakers. Then, take some photos with all participants and speakers.
